The inauguration of VTB Bank’s new New Delhi office, marking 20 years of its presence in India, underscored the deepening of India–Russia financial and economic cooperation.

Dr. Rashmi Saluja played a pivotal role in advancing this engagement, bringing together senior financial and institutional stakeholders to strengthen trade, investment, payment connectivity and bilateral financial cooperation.

The occasion brought together Mr. Andrey Kostin, President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank (PJSC), Ms. Olga Basha, Member of the Board of VTB Bank Russia, and senior representatives from India and Russia.

The engagement builds on the strategic MoU signed on 24 October 2025 between Dr. Saluja and Ms. Elena Komarova, CEO of VTB India, establishing a framework for deeper cooperation in B2G engagement, rupee–ruble settlement, payment-system connectivity and financial ecosystem integration.

The framework also creates opportunities for NBFCs, cooperative banks and MSME-focused institutions, while supporting collaboration across infrastructure, technology, healthcare, agriculture and logistics, alongside policy dialogue and industrial cooperation.

For Dr. Saluja, the initiative reflects a broader vision of connecting financial systems, institutions and enterprises to build stronger trade corridors, deepen investment linkages and enable sustainable India–Russia economic growth.
